Lake Vermilion Smallmouth Bass Fishing

The season for bass fishing opens May 29, 2010 and closes February 21, 2011

Catch and release season for smallmouth bass begins on September 13, 2010.

The largest smallmouth reported by guests in 2009 were 2 - 21"ers caught by Denny Naughton the week of May 24 and Joe Graczyk the week of June 14.

Largemouth bass are not as prevalent as smallmouth, but are also found throughout Lake Vermilion. 3 - 20" largemouth bass were caught in 2009, one by Paul Homerding the week of July 19, another by Doug Homerding the week of July 26, and one by Jim Lamping the week of August 2.
