Lake Vermilion Smallmouth Bass Fishing

The season for bass fishing opens May 14, 2011 and closes February 26, 2012

Catch and release season for smallmouth bass begins on September 12, 2011.

The largest smallmouth reported by a guest in 2010 was a 21" caught by Mario Billasenion the week of August 15.

Largemouth bass are not as prevalent as smallmouth, but are also found throughout Lake Vermilion. A 20" largemouth bass was caught and released in 2010 by Dennis O'Connell the week of August 29.
